Photo Shoots After Lockdown

So we are now in August 2020 and who would have thought that as we counted down the seconds at the end of 2019 we would be where we are!

But life has its ups and downs and we have made it to today. I hope everyone reading this is safe and well and no words, nor applause are quite enough to show my gratitude to the wonderful members of our NHS, who have worked tirelessly to help make those suffering better but more to come on that soon!

As the situation has evolved and more and more restrictions were eased, I found myself evaluating my plans for the year. As a result I am now offering socially distanced photo shoots for anyone comfortable to book. But how does that work and what impact does it have on your experience?

How does it work?

The booking process is no different to normal. Get in touch and let me know what you are looking for! I will either respond via email or give you a call to discuss dates and ideas for your shoot. I always like to have a shot list when I work with a client so we have some ideas and are ready to go, however no two shoots are the same and I like your input so we can put your stamp on your photos as well.

What impact does it have on my experience?

Firstly, keeping 2 meters from each other during a photo shoot, while not ideal, is completely possible! I’m not going to say that it is perfect. It can also mean certain ‘close up’ shots are a lot harder to get and you may not get every shot you envisioned, but with the right planning and the correct location can yield some incredible results, both of which i feel are key with every shoot communication.

(See the images within this blog for examples of a maternity shoot I did with a client in Nottingham this summer as restrictions were easing).

I have always carried a bottle of alcohol gel in my bag with me on shoots and wearing a face mask is no trouble at all if it makes the client feel more comfortable (even outdoors!).I am always keeping up to date with the news and any changes in restrictions etc to ensure I can provide a positive experience for all my clients. For anyone looking to book a photo shoot post lockdown, that may be slightly unsure, I recommend getting in touch with photographers and asking what measures they have in place.

I hope this information is useful, and if you are looking to book your own shoot then please get in touch.
